One less blessing in my life, had my path not changed in 2005. Assuming that you will read this one day, Alexis, I would re-live my past four years 10 times over if it meant that I would be blessed with all that I have now. In many ways, you are a miracle baby.

Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces

This morning, I was notified that the Petition for Grant of Review filed by Wilmer Hale, LLP was approved.  My case will be heard by their panel of judges with Oral Arguments to be heard in September.  Good news for my family and friends. I am so thankful for the many ways in which God has provided strength, grace, mercy and hope for my future.

A verse that continues to uplift, Jeremiah 29:11-14

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity. [a] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

‘Bits and Pieces’ and the context. Webster Smith

I was thinking about the last several years and the spectrum of interactions that have influenced my life, personality and character.  For every friend that I have made, there was likely some sort of opposition that I have inherited (hopefully, not anymore). I suppose that I want to thank everyone and that I am at peace with that.  This devotional was passed on to me by a professional and spiritual mentor. It is relevant to all of our lives. God Bless.

Bits and pieces.
Bits and pieces.

People. People important to you, people unimportant to you, cross your life, touch it with love or carelessness and move on. There are people who leave you and you breathe a sigh of relief and wonder why you ever came into contact with them. There are people who leave you and you breathe a sigh of remorse and wonder why they had to go away and leave such a gaping hole. Children leave parents; friends leave friends. Acquaintances move on. People change homes. People grow apart. Enemies hate and move on. Friends love and move on. You think on the many who have moved into your hazy memory. You look on those present and wonder.
I believe in God’s master plan in lives. He moves people in and out of each other’s lives, and each leaves his mark on the other. You find you are made up of bits and pieces of all who ever touched your life, and you are more because of it, and you would be less if they had not touched.
Pray God that you accept the bits and pieces in humility and wonder, and never question,
and never regret.

Bits and pieces
Bits and pieces.
